Breakdown Recovery
If your car has stopped and it is not starting again, you need it moved before it becomes a bigger problem. We recover broken-down cars, vans and 4x4s across Basildon, Essex and beyond, on a flatbed, to wherever the vehicle needs to go.
What we recover
A breakdown covers a lot of ground. If the vehicle cannot safely drive under its own power, it goes on the flatbed. Typical jobs include:
- Engine that has cut out and will not restart
- Flat or failed battery where a jump has not worked
- Clutch, gearbox or transmission failure
- Overheating, coolant loss or a suspected head gasket
- Snapped cambelt or timing chain
- Electrical faults leaving the vehicle immobilised
- Punctures or blowouts with no usable spare
Roadside, driveway or car park
Most calls come from one of three places: the side of a road, a driveway at home, or a car park where the vehicle will not restart after a shop or a shift.
Roadside work on faster routes such as the A127, A13 or A176 is the priority job, because a stationary vehicle on a live carriageway is a hazard to you and to everyone else. If you are on a motorway or a dual carriageway, get out of the vehicle, behind the barrier, and call us from there.
Where we take it
That is your call. We move vehicles to home addresses, to a garage of your choosing, to a dealership, or to a scrap or salvage yard if the repair is not worth doing.
If you have not decided yet, tell us when you call. It is usually cheaper to make one move to the right place than two moves to the wrong one.
What affects the price
We quote before we move, so there is no meter running and no surprise at the other end. The price depends on:
- Distance from collection point to destination
- Vehicle size and weight
- Whether the vehicle rolls, steers and brakes, or needs winching
- Access at both ends, such as a tight car park or an underground bay
- Time of day
Common questions
Do you cover breakdowns at night?
Yes. We take calls and run recoveries around the clock, including weekends and bank holidays.
My car will not go into neutral. Is that a problem?
No. A vehicle that will not roll or steer can still be winched onto the flatbed. Mention it when you call so we arrive prepared.
Can you take me with the vehicle?
In most cases yes, there is room in the cab. Tell us how many passengers when you call so we can confirm.
Do I need breakdown cover to use you?
No. We are an independent recovery firm, so you can call us directly and pay per job. There is no membership and no annual fee.
