Vehicle Transport

Not every job is an emergency. Plenty of vehicle moves are planned: a car sold to a buyer two counties away, a classic going to a show, a van moving with a house. We transport vehicles from Basildon and Essex to anywhere in the UK.

Planned moves, booked in advance

Transport work is different to recovery work because you know about it beforehand. Typical jobs:

  • Private sales, delivering to a buyer or collecting from a seller
  • Classic, modified and low-clearance cars that should not be driven far
  • Relocations, where a second vehicle needs to follow the move
  • Vehicles going to and from storage
  • Cars going to shows, track days, restorers or specialists
  • Long-distance moves where driving it is neither practical nor sensible

Cars, vans and 4x4s

The flatbed handles anything up to a large van or 4x4. If you are not sure whether your vehicle fits, tell us the make and model when you call and we will confirm before you book.

Low, modified and non-running vehicles

Lowered and modified cars are a common reason people choose transport over driving, because low front splitters and ramps do not get on. So are classics on old tyres, and anything with a fresh restoration on it.

A non-running vehicle is no obstacle. It gets winched on the same way a runner is driven on.

Getting an accurate price

For a transport quote the useful details are the collection postcode, the delivery postcode, the make and model, whether it starts and steers, and any access constraints at either end. With those we can give you a firm price rather than a guess.

Common questions

How far do you travel?

Nationwide by arrangement. We are Basildon based and cover Essex daily, but long-distance runs are regular work.

Is it enclosed transport?

We run flatbed transport, which is open rather than enclosed. For most vehicles that is exactly right; if you need fully enclosed transport for a concours car, say so when you call.

Can you transport a car I have just bought that I have never seen?

Yes. Give us the seller's postcode and we will collect. Bear in mind we are transporting it, not inspecting or verifying it.

How far in advance should I book?

For planned transport, the sooner the better, particularly for a fixed date such as an auction deadline or a handover.
